Stops are lovely. Happens to me all the time. I put them in place as soon as I am filled, on every trade - intraday or position trading. I use them to capture profits too. The world would be a richer place if everyone used them ;)

Hey, just a thought, the gap up leaves plenty of room for downside before limits hit.

For example, at 1526 now the nasdaq futures are only down 28 roughly, leaving another 50 points of room before the first limit hits. Already 50 points of travel in intraday range so far today, would have left only 30 to go.
