I used the cliff image only because it was so handy.

I am really not at that point in my investing life.

But on the other hand. . . . .

But your point is well taken.

FWIW: My covered calls are somewhat above current prices (average is about strike price of 60) and I try to stay near term. I keep rolling from month to month. It has kept my portfolio steadier than it would otherwise have been. If in fact, QCOM is in a range bound trading cycle as some seem to believe (between 40 and 60 appears to be the concensus), then I am alright. I would suffer only if the stock spikes up into the mid to high 60's.
