Thanks for the info. I gave up on SH some time ago. Occasionally I go over there to see if anyone has anything to say. Let me know if your post generates anything.

I bought the dips until I felt I had all the PYR my portfolio could stand. I am only about $2K in the red, so a little more move up and I will be breathing air again.

I believe that the ELH will prove out eventually, but it may take longer than I would like. Deep stuff is always twice as much money and four times as long as you estimate. Fortunately, APC learned a lot in their home basin.

I thought that there would be more money rotating into energy with the Naz tanking so much, but so far it has not been the case. I started nibbling on some OSX stocks this, but is seems that I was too early. Fortunately I have some good shorts in QQQ and BRCM.

Best to all,

JRH

Hi Hops,

As Haley notes, many are watching this thread for news. We don't post because there's little to say.

Think we all realize that positive news from #4 or #9 will spark the market. We saw that when LHG posted a picture of the last flare.

Perhaps we'll have a repeat performance in the near future. It's quite likely. Both wells are either in or near the right stuff.

Don't worry about the next flare being a big one. I've sent LHG a photo touch-up kit. He's a good man and will know how to use it appropriately... LOL.

Meanwhile, it's always nice to see you and other Old Boys post even if only occasionally. Presumably all are well. That's important too.

Bob

Hi Hops. Thanks for the PYR links - interesting as always.

Yes, this thread is very quiet, which is why I have been venturing over to ''the dark side'' of SH, where the audience is very much alive...sometimes too much so!

Nevertheless, it is sad to see a few bitter people picking on the ELH long-timers.
Grayhairs has given a lot of time and energy to this thread, by way of explanations, thoughts and predictions.
He doesn't deserve the treatment he is getting on SH.

Anyway, that aside, the recent increase in PYR is encouraging.
The volume even more so.
What does it all mean?
We will find out shortly.

Cheers,
S&P

Since you resurrected the board, this just in from LHG:

SUBJECT: ELH update Posted By: LostHillsGuy
Post Time: 1/22/02 16:13

Rumors, but they may be true.
I heard they will run liner (standard, cemented string) across the Bloemer/Phacoides at #4 for a completion attempt.

#9 has experienced gas kicks from two fractured sandstone zones and raised the mud weight. Finally got the hole stabilized and are pulling out of the hole to run E-logs, then probably run casing to seal off these areas before drilling ahead.

All pretty good news.

LHG
--------------------------------------------

...and lest we forget, this was from PYR's report of Dec 14th:

OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
PYR is participating in three wells currently drilling at East Lost Hills:
The ELH #4 well is at a depth of 19,450 feet where 7`` casing has been installed. Drilling operations are expected re-commence shortly to drill to the anticipated total depth of 20,500 feet. The well is currently in shale directly above the lower Temblor sands. This well was sidetracked in October and correlative analysis indicate that this sidetracked well bore is as much as 400 feet higher than the original ELH #4 well bore.

The ELH #9 well is currently at a depth of approximately 17,600 feet, approximately 100 feet into the top of the Temblor formation. Preparations to run an intermediate string of casing to the current depth are underway. After installation of the casing, it is expected this well will continue to drill to the anticipated total depth of 21,000 feet.

PYR owns a 12.12% working interest in each of the ELH #4 and ELH #9 wells, both operated by Anadarko Petroleum
Corporation.
