There is a terrorist war, and a population war going on against Israel. One of the reasons Arafat turned down a Palestinian State, and turned to increased violence, was to keep Jewish immigration down, and Arab population growth up. The more violence caused for Israel, the fewer Russian Jews, etc., will move to Israel. In the meantime, Palestinians have one of the highest birth rates in the world, and the number of Arabs immigrating to the area is increasing. Here's one of many articles about the "population war".
