<<real estate is worth exactly what people are willing and able to pay for it>> sir, you confuse the concepts of "worth" and "price". don't worry, you are not alone as nobody in the financial media and only 0.000001% of Wall Streeters know the difference. in very rare instances (sort of like when Halley's Comet is visible to the earth) "worth" and "price" co-incide. at all other times they are completely dis-connected from each other, and it is only by random confluences of events that they are ever the same.
