I think the 14M is a derived number. The press release said

2001 offered achievements in areas such as technology innovation, roaming, and applications. CDMA technology reached more than 117 million subscribers, including 3.5 CDMA2000 users on eight commercial networks at year's end

John used the number posted on the cdg site which is 103M at Sept-01. Therefore the 14M.

Of course we need to see exactly what that number should be once the Dec number is out.

Slacker--4 mo vs 3 mo. I thought so, but now I think I made a mistake and it was for 9/30. So you may be right.
