Paul, pre-1999, breadth indicators like the mcoscillator and the summation, were golden, during the bubble the breadth indicators stopped working, now that the nyse breadth had gotten crushed into the march 00 low, and the nas got crushed into the december 00 low the summation 20 day cross is back in town, it is probably the most easy thing to watch for trend oscillations.

Paul,

Looking at the same chart within a different time frame (July 1998 - May 2000; covering the birth of a nascent bull market), there were several crossings or"false" pivotal points which obviously did not corresponded to major market reversal.
