China is required to buy their ASICs from the Q, as part of their most favored nation royalty license. The transition from global manufacturers to local manufacturers will benefit QCOM in a big way since they will control all of the ASIC orders at the local level for CDMA2000/1xEV-DO equipment.

We haven't even started to see the licensing revenues from the WCDMA camp in Europe begin to hit the newswires. I would imagine this will begin to accelerate next quarter when companies start looking at soft launches in June and September for UMTS networks.

This licensing deal is a big plus for QCOM today, since it gives some added cushion for EPS on Thursday. True, the licensing deals have to be amortized over time, but 11 deals with 1 stroke of the pen is pretty impressive. I only recall 1 or 2 deals signed in September.
