oh really. this is from the man who says he's in a state of ketosis while he's sleeping. do you know that dr atkins has sold over 10 million books? i'm sure you're well aware that he thinks ketosis is an ideal state to be in if you want to lose weight. considering that is the goal of his diet, and practically everyone who follows the 2-week induction diet he advocates goes into ketosis, i think it's safe to say that millions of people have been in ketosis because of dr atkins in the last 30 years. have any of them dropped dead? nope. has anyone following dr atkins complained to him or sued him for kidney failure? nope. you complain that people misrepresent the zone diet and it angers you so much. well perhaps you could take a look at who's calling the kettle black when you make baseless claims about diets like atkins' over-stressing your kidneys. you would think that if ketosis was so dangerous and atkins diet was so hard on your kidneys that you would have heard an uproar about it in the last 30 years, considering millions of people have tried his diet and others which are similar to it.

ketosis is simply burning your fat stores for energy. it's one of the main reasons why your body stores fat in the first place banana brain. i'm sure each one of those people on survivor were in a state of ketosis. did any of them drop dead?

i suppose people like you that don't restrict your carbs very much are in a state of "glucosis". seeing how carbohydrate ingestion sends a signal to your pancreas to start pumping out insulin to deal with the glucose in the blood, i could just as easily use your fallacious logic to say that people like you who eat a high carb diet overstress their pancreas. (although in this case it's true).

but you never hear that from the mainstream medical community do you? they are the first ones to claim that increasing your protein intake is hard on your kidneys, yet they recommend diets extremely high in carbs which strains your pancreas. i have never heard one of them admit that their diet is hard on your pancreas. yet their diet is the principal reason we have a skyrocketing diabetes problem in america today--which is directly related to insulin levels and the failure of your pancreas to secrete enough insulin or the failure of your cells to utilize the insulin your pancreas secretes.

oh, and another thing. do you know what the leading cause of kidney failure in america is? drum roll please...diabetes! obviously we know that diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar. so the real truth is that a diet high in carbs is far worse for your kidneys than a diet "high" in protein.

is there any other ignorance i can bestow upon you mr bug?
