One of the things I always appreciated was the conservative fiscal management of [KLAC], which is of course a necessity if they are to survive in an industry with such wide swings in business.

Absolutely. It is a wonder to me that ENE was so naive as not to recognize the inherent volatility of the energy trading business. The incipient business historian in me is curious as to whether the semi-equip industry has always had this fiscal conservatism, or whether it got religion through a near-Enron experience in the semi or semi-equip industry?
