If "the real problem" is supposedly "troop strengths and air and sealift denigration due to lack of funding", why has W's number 1 priority in new spending been Star Wars Redux, both before and after 9/11?

Good point, UW. I well recognize different missions require different methods and manpower assets.

OTOH, recognizing there are times when multiple fronts are essential and other times when patience is the best weapon, it's hard to be certain which is called for here.

I suspect there are more fronts being fought covertly than is readily apparent. As our visible front clearly compels extremists to go back to the drawing boards before attacking us overtly again, the information war, and the diplomatic maneuvers behind the scenes may yield more fruit ahead than multiple fronts, in the nearterm.

Without access to the insider info, it's very hard to second guess.
