Actual stall speed is about 63 knots (which is about par for any high perfomance single). And I would not look forward to putting this bird into a rough field if the engine ever stopped being noisy, as the wheels are fairly small. That said, it has an amazing glide ratio and it loves the high altitudes, so I like to think (rationalize) that the probability of reaching a decent airport is better than for most.

Engine problems are actually quite rare.

Agree with your comments about being a bear, but I suspect the fur and claws are going to prevail over the horns and hooves for quite a while yet. (g)
