Not sure, but think those closing spikes are as likely to be noise as they are to hint at the next day's direction.

Wondering out loud: "Why not do with the HUI what the COT's do. Sell in the high 60's, cover in the low 60's?" Ahh, to trade or not to trade, that is the question.

Hi Paul,
bigcharts.marketwatch.com
I'm looking @ a slightly longer term chart (weekly 5 year Log using ADX, MACd & slo Stochs)...

Peering @ this chart (I'll attempt to post it, but if the parameters are incorrect please reset using the previously mentioned indicators...)
I'm just eyeballing this chart, however it appears that since July '98 the HUI has had a very difficult time with the significant resistance that is implied @ the 75ish level.

However, this time is different (@ least according to the chart), @ long last price is riding above the 21 & 50 ema's (unlike prior attempts to take out 75 resistance). In my mind (whats left of it), if the HUI can take out the 200 week ema that will be a very significant bullish move.

ADX is suggesting that once again the trend is strengthening which may be bullish for the longs according to MACd.

So as far as patterns are concerned, will HUI chop sideways for awhile & consolidate before it breaks up or breaks down?

Possible pennant? stockcharts.com
Opinions are appreciated & poster has personal interest (PHPI) Bias=long

Regards,
Peter
