on that day it reached 7.81, today 7 tradings session later, it stands at 5.32, down 32% ...

HAL conf. call going well. Their operating results were mostly impressive. They spoke of a 1 billion award from the gov. and others. Their backlog of business is almost $10 billion. Their margins were impressive in 4th quarter and they expect their margins to be up next quarter YOY.
Cash on hand is up to $600M from 300M. Expect positive cash flow in 2002 and do not see any reason to raise cash.

They have also spoken of asbestos and noted that they think the asbestos fears are WAY overdone. They noted the following:

Their payout per claim settled was actually down in 2001 from prior years

Their new claims results are trending way down from 27,000 to 13,000 to 9,000 in last 3 quarters.

36,000 claims settled @ $720 gross per claim and $220 after insurance.

Less than 1% of all claims went to trial.

Won 35 cases before they ever went to trial (ie. they were thrown out)

11 insignificent awards

2 less than $5M awards

4 more on appeal and company thinks they can win or have award significantly reduced.

They felt comfortable that their reserves are sufficient to cover future claims.
