Or not. As has been pointed out a few times already, UMC is a 23 BILLION US DOLLAR company. There's no way in h*ll AMD could afford a serious stake. (and, of course, UMC management denied the rumors).

More likely, if the money somehow involves UMC, is the possibility of a joint venture of some kind (e.g. a 300mm fab).
