It seems activating it is the easy part. All that's needed is for the OS to recognize the physical CPU as two virtual CPUs. Ten, I will take your word for it but don't why that would be easy. Of course, that could be because I don't have a clue how you would do it. The hard part is getting the most performance benefit from HyperThreading. Server apps benefit the most, but most multithreaded workstation apps would see smaller benefits. A few might even see worse performance with HyperThreading. So, the HyperTreading is limited to servers or network pcs; it won't work with desktops? The trick is to optimize the software for multithreading using various techniques. And that's the tough part (besides getting it to work properly on the chip in the first place). It sounds pretty exciting and like it will be a major break through.......like having two PCs in one. ted
