You're telling me, you are starting another site so you can run away from your him? That doesn't sound like you..or your trading style. You woosie. You know as well as I do, what made you who you are is having the stock scams, scumbags, OTC plays, biotech shorts, etc in your "zone" (SI) and subsequently exposing them by way of your board, in your own flashy style. Now do you really think you are going to see any of that in your little tree stand? Nah. Your tree stand will never attract critical mass because too many people will know it's backed by you -- a generally one-way trader and one-way view on things, which will, whether you like it or not, flow over into the Admin/management of the site. And that's a bad thing because your effectivness as a trader and investor awareness service is minimized big time. You no longer have the muscle you had outside of your core, private group. Preaching to the choir. But you can be a major player of an larger community that swings to both sides of the trading plate (like SI once did). And an Admin/backing that does as well. It takes the dynamics of both to have a growing and stable community. This kind of setup also offers you more opportunities to tap for potential trades. You can see where the action is at. Whereas, up in your tree stand, you'll have 1-3 boards, and the same churning of old stuff and people. You'll start smelling like that deer piss stuff after a while. One thing I've learned over the past year or so is that pumpers need the bashers; and bashers need the pumpers. Whether they'll tell you that or not. If they don't exist, they'll go looking for them, then complain about them once they find them. But in the end, they love eachother's company and the message boards exist because of the dynamics that exist between the two. The only thing I ask for is a certain level of civilty on the public stock boards. That's my zone. That's my playground and I'll beat the crap out of you if you don't behave on it. Post negative information, just play nice. As far as boards like this go, it's your call. You can spank whoever you want, call them names, shove turds down their throat, etc. Run it how you see fit. I very rarely step in on the stock club-type boards. Only time I will is if there is some kind of illegal activity going on or something not cool like trying to fix your trading record. Other than that, the A@P board is yours. Run it just like you would WSS. You create it, you destroy it. And so far, based on the above design, things seem to be growing quickly and shaping up nicely. Nice enough to where I even managed to bring in Bob Z (aka SI Bob) to run the show. (Note: The old folks are gone that you didn't like. It's now just the Matt and Bob show.) Plus, I'm flexible to incorporate new ideas, as I always have. I've rambled. In closing, you can be a big fish in a little pond or a big fish in a big pond. Up to you, dood. Either way, you can join Bob and I now or later, because we will end up shooting your tree stand out of the air in time anyways. :) MB EDIT: Just remembered this, that I posted regarding this similar topic a few days ago. investorshub.com
