What implications does this action have for Intel? Are the chips from these plants mostly for cell phones?

They can't be all making the much vaunted Power PC chips for Apple and IBM.


Harry, I'm pretty sure that what Motorola has been doing is to back away from a lot of the old line semiconductor stuff: the sensors, amplifiers, comparators, etc. No commonality with Intel in these, although Motorola does have a lot of embedded products that, if they de-emphasized them, Intel may take a look. Not a lot here though, with regard to Intel, I don't think.
