Tony,

AMD investors should not be equated to AMD. Most of the finance arguments I've seen are "weak". And, it is a double edged sword, meaning if Intel does it, AMD does it.

However, the point I'm trying to make to you is that the issuance of debt is not a bad thing. Before one rushes to judgement, one should know why it is being issued. Additionally, companies that had their debt reduced to "junk" levels, such as Nortel and Lucent, were successful in raising additional funds during a conv't offering.
