Kap,

I don't know what is the definition of the "Current portion of long-term debt". Is it payable within a year, 5 years or other. Do you know? Can anybody confirm?

Within 1 year, per Dave on INTC thread. Maybe someone can confirm.

$331M in a year looks like a very severe obligation and yet from numerous CCs we heard that the terms of the remaining debt are very flexible and favorable.

That can all be consistent with the fact that some of the debt matures in 2002.

"Current portion of long-term debt"

For financial statement classification under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) current refers to the portion due within 12 months. If a company has a long-term debt that the principal is payable equally over 10 years, then one year will be the current portion, with the rest in long-term.
