RE: The AMD convert To be fair, this issue is a definite positive for AMD. Convert arb funds are flush with cash right now and this has driven convert deals to very low coupon rates high conversion prices. I would wager that AMD will find that $500mm to be very cheap capital. AMD continues to amaze me with its ability to find cheap capital. For a company that can't seem to make any money in the long run and is really just a few streaks of bad luck away from bankruptcy, AMD ability to raise capital at cheap prices for the company is to be admired. Sanders really ought to get out of the semiconductor business and get into investment banking. Well, when you think of it, he's already in the investment banking business, most people just don't realize it.
