J - Re:"a company with debt is a weak company."

A company that loses money for 5 out of 6 years is a weak company. AMD had to sell off its headquarters and then business units in the past to pay off debt. It just couldn't earn money to pay its bills.

What is AMD going to sell this time to pay its debt? There isn't much left except Jerry's limo and Beverley Hills office.

Jozef,

hmmm, well it really depends, you know?

Debt isn't a bad thing, but too much debt is a bad thing.

What if AMD had debt levels approaching the likes of GE, IBM, Tyco, etc? That would be bad; very bad. On 90B worth of debt, the interest expense would kill them.

But, you as an AMD investor, don't have to worry about that.
