From Briefing.com: 10:51AM Novellus (NVLS) 40.10 +0.45 (+1.1%): -- Technical -- Stock has edged back over 40.00 on strong relative volume. Faces relatively solid resistance in the area of 40.50/40.80 which brackets its 20-day exponential moving average, its 50-day simple moving average and the bottom of a recent gap. If it can clear 40.80 on a close, it has little resistance until the area of 42.30

9:59AM Cirrus Logic (CRUS) 18.43 +0.48: -- Correction -- We reported yesterday that a CRUS loss of $0.21 was a penny better than the consensus; that figure excluded a tax benefit oftwo cents which would typically be excluded from estimates; in this case, however, the benefit was included in estimates, and CRUS therefore lost $0.19 per share and beat estimates by three cents.

9:48AM Sector Watch : Impressive start with the gains broad based in nature. Also on the move are homebuilding, gaming, networking, computer-hardware, broker/dealer. Little on the downside other than gold and drug.

9:08AM Cabot Micro (CCMP) 72.69: Reports Q1 EPS of $0.37, $0.01 below the First Call consensus and in-line with the Multex consensus; revs came in at $51.0 mln, lower than the consensus of $53.32 mln. "Revenues have remained relatively flat over the last three quarters. This trend could be an indication that we and our customers may have hit the bottom of this cycle."

8:28AM DSP Group (DSPG) 23.22: USB Piper Jaffray upgrades to OUTPERFORM from Mkt Perform after solid Q4 results and because for the first time in four qtrs the co did not lower guidance. Price target is $28.

8:18AM Flextronics (FLEX) 23.72: Company reported earnings of $0.17 yesterday afternoon, beating estimates by a penny, but guided Mar qtr to $0.15 a penny below the First Call consensus; Goldman Sachs says that strength into earnings call could limit near-term upside potential, but maintains Recommended List rating and $30 target, and would buy on any pullback.

8:09AM Cypress Semi (CY) 18.66: Reports Q4 (Dec) loss of $0.11, a penny better than the Multex consensus of ($0.12); revenues were $191.1 mln vs the consensus of $190.3 mln. No specific guidance in release, though CEO says that despite limited visibility due to a heavy reliance on turns business (orders booked and shipped in same qtr), the market upturn continues.

7:02AM Nokia (NOK) 22.21: Stock climbs 7% in European trading after co posts Q4 net of $0.21 a share, exceeding the Multex consensus estimate by $0.03 a share.
