While AMD did make a "tiny" profit, their trend was negative.

You might prefer to think that AMD made a $28M profit, but that was without counting the $90M in restructuring costs that they incurred during the third quarter. Thus, they only had a pro-forma profit. In actuality, they ended the year $60M poorer, or $(0.18) EPS.
