Robert/Gottfried,

Lets not forget the other long term trends in our lives. More and more of the devices we use every day are adding semiconductor content. Those that already have chips in them are getting more chips. We tend to overly focus on the two largest markets for chips, namely PCs and cell phones, ignoring the trends developing in other markets at our future peril. This analyst seems to be guilty of the same can't see the forest for the trees problem that many others suffer from. 300mm is a necessary step for the chips makers to take, needed to supply all the varied devices that the market needs in the coming years. 400mm and larger wafers are in our future, the not to distant future.
