bum, thank you. I have followed this thread for awhile, finding it a valuable resource on the oil and gas climate. I have done most of my posting on the Zthread over the past 4 years. I am a throwback to the old days of LTBH, PEs, value, FA, TA, etc. Most of my portfolio is LTBH and I trade about 25% of it short term.
I prefer to look at 6 month daily charts, but refer to 3,5, and longer year charts to remove the effect of the bubble as best i can.
Looking at your second chart of COF: stockcharts.com[h,a]daclyiay[pb20!b10!f][vc60][iut!Up14,3,3!Ua12,26,9] , and adding stochastics. I see the stochastics indicating oversold, but not yet turning up, and i see higher highs and higher lows. COF has broken below the 50 DMA 3 times in the time frame of the chart, and each time went on to higher highs.
As for FA, I think COF and KRB are extremely strong leaders in the credit card biz, and the earlier dumping that we have seen is a result of the paranoia on the sector due to the pig PVN. COF just came out with earnings and outlook that was very positive.
I often get in trouble on SI because my outlook is longer than 5 nanoseconds, but I am very happy with short term trades. today sold ITWO at 8.30 from 7.50 a few days ago. regrettable, i did sell AMZN yesterday because it hit a percentage gain, but my gut said LIR (Let it ride). My long term target on COF is >65-70. (long term subject to later definition)
