i think you're forgetting fall of 99...i believe QCOM closed around 228 presplit, traded down to 217 in AH initially, and then rocketed up to 250 later in the session when the CC started and they announced the 4:1 split. that was on the way to 800 in the most spectacular blowoff top of any large-cap tech stock of that year, and perhaps ever in the history of the S&P500. of course, at 42, QCOM is now only at the equivalent of 168 presplit.
