rich, less than a week ago you didn't know military retirement costs were including in the defense budget. Now, you come up with a precise 120 billion dollar figure of waste. Can I be so bold as to ask, how you came up with the number? Was it published at the nation magazine, or your latest Democrat email?

You know what's funny about Dems, the only government agency they want to cut funding with is the one that's working. If it's not working, *we must spend more*. But if it's working reasonably well, we must cut it?

Would you be happier if the department of defense worked as well as the Department of Education? An agency, where by every measurement one can come up is failing miserably to do it's mission?

<<I do however, get real upset that 120 billion is just plain wasted in DOD and now we are going to increase the waste >>

Rumsfeld was working on lowering the DOD waste before 9/11 and I believe he'll get it done. A lot of the increase will cover the cost of the war, getting parts for equipment that has sat idled for lack of parts and better living for our people in uniform.

I know first hand about some of the smaller waste in the DOD. Our ambulances ate alternators and we could only redline a vehicle for 3 days. It took 60 days to get an alternator so we'd keep 3 on hand. Every big inspection they went into the dumpster as we weren't authorized to have them in our PLL. I talked to the CO and got the ok to load the alternators and all parts that weren't authorized into the wrecker and make an "emergency" run on inspection day.

"It is a fine example of Defense Money spent well, and the readiness and the ability to do what they did in Aghan without a single casualty is a testament to their readiness which is also a tribute to the former Administration."

Still pedaling the "Clit'ns military" crap huh ritchie?
So when will it become GWB's military? Don't say when the first budget hits cause that's total crap. In fact it became GWB's military 1/22/01 and the turnaround happened out of respect and admiration for the new leadership.
Precisely why it's arguable that your boy never had a military. Most military folk hated the man. Probably would have shot him in the back if he ever showed up on the field of battle.

I do however, get real upset that 120 billion is just plain wasted in DOD and now we are going to increase the waste and BTW haven't even raised the money to pay for it.

rich, Identify at least some of what you call waste or shut your piehole.
