Does anyone follow, or has anyone looked at TXM on the Amex?

TXM -
TARGETS TR XI TARGETED GROWTH ENHANCED TERMS SEC ON AMERICAN EXPRESS INC DUE 08/15/2004 (TXM)

The stock has a substantial yield, over $1 for an $8 stock - it's in the 13% range, which is pretty significant. At first glance it looks like an excellent place for someone who needs a fixed income investment to park some dough.

Any help on this one would be much appreciated.

Jim_P, I am curious about your reasons for picking those three sectors. I presume pipelines are good because you have to really work at it to lose money in the pipeline business and I presume you believe earnings are going to demand a premium. Is that correct, or is there something else I am missing?

Presumably oil is at or near a bottom and producers can make money at these prices. No?

Wireless seems to me to be more iffy. If 3G brings us hot new apps then it will see exceptional growth. Otherwise, it seems to me to be pretty much a modest growth and replacement business. Except of course in China and India where there is a huge potential demand. I am dabbling with QCOM for that play. What are your thoughts?

Best to all,

JRH
