If you mean that the investment might be for a joint-venture 300mm SOI-cabable fab, then that's an altogether different story ;-).

(My guess would be the JV fab with UMC)

Then there's also IBM's brand new 300mm SOI-capable fab in
East Fishkill N.Y. This recession has reduced IBM Microelectronics sales by over 30%. Lou would sell his mother for some revenue.
