Gotta love those range fed eggs.

Why are you still responding to lunatic ranting? Let's talk chocolate!

Hey! Chocolate eggs! Yum. And good for you, too.

;-)

>> craig, soy isn't necessarily garbage. <<

true, it's all relative. i'd rather use soy flour than white flour. but i would never use soy products in excess to avoid eating healthy, yummy, nutrient dense, animal products. that is wrong-headed.

>> you go after other diets with same veracity that they go after yours... and with as little real knowledge, too <<

i hate to say it skeet, but i think that i not only have more knowledge than you of my type of diet (atkins/protein power type), but i think i have more knowledge of your diet the zone as well!

>> let's agree to disagree and move on <<

what fun would that be? without a good argument of some sort this thread is boring. why do you think gst, hj, victor and yourself harass mr harmond all day? because you have nothing better to do and this thread is dead.

>> (and you don't have to answer why the atkins diet doesn't work well for world class athletes <<

that's because i really don't care to get sucked into a discussion of anecdotal evidence which proves absolutely nothing. many top-level athletes perform on hi-carb diets too. does that mean hi-carb low-fat diets are proper? nope. so why should finding some athletes who follow atkins or zone prove either one of them superior to each other? you can find athletes with diets of all stripes including vegetarians, and that is clearly a foolish way to eat. so it's pointless to me.

>> you think processed ice cream is better than a banana? <<

i prefer to make my own ice cream, which is a whole lot healthier than a banana. a banana has around 25 grams of carbs in it after subtracting a couple for the fiber. a 1/2 cup of "processed" rich vanilla ice cream like dreyers (not the low-fat high sugar crap) has around 14 grams. i can eat almost a whole cup of dreyers ice cream and get the same sugar as a banana. a mere 3/4 cup vanilla milkshake has more potassium than a banana. of course i can make homemade ice cream much more healthy than the store brands.

>> the body NEEDS glucose to run optimally and carbos can be an excellent source of glucose (much better than converting protein to glucose!) <<

there is nothing wrong with gluconeogenesis. you need to get this notion out of your head.

>> bananas included (even though sears doesn't like their glycemic index, but what the hey). <<

bananas have a higher glycemic index than ice cream. yet one more reason ice cream is better for you.

>> they are also an excellent source of some vitamins and minerals <<

my ice cream is an even better source of valuable vitamins and minerals than a banana. a banana is chock full of sugar. for every fruit you listed that you devour i bet i could find better alternatives. many nuts will give you just as much if not more potassium and other minerals found in bananas, with more fiber, antioxidants, and a fraction of the sugar.

one leaf of lettuce has twice the antioxidant power of an entire banana. think about that the next time you devour one of those sugar infestations which people think are so healthy.
