sure, I own my home. But all that I know is that I have a beautiful backyard and a nice house. I know how much we paid for it and what the interest rate is, but that is the extent. Fortunately, my wife can tell you housing prices in about a 15 mile radius and can tell you the various details of the different mortgage rates. To be honest, I have no idea what our monthly mortgage payment is. Then again, she owns a bunch of stocks and isn't terribly knowledgeable about the stock market.
