there is a lawsuit now against McDonalds and others based on claim that many Americans are obese- partly from eating fast food- that they were misled by McDonalds and others, that obesity is a great cost to the nation, that the taxpayer and healthy and trim shouldn't pay for added cost of the obese.

>> you still can't name one professional, olympic or good amateur athlete that follows your ideal diet <<

i haven't looked, and am not interested in going down this path of reasoning.

>> except the arkins diet can't support the rigors of high level athletics and the zone does <<

show me the proof.

>> any atkins followers won gold medals? <<

how the hell should i know.

>> why do you duck this issue over and over <<

i have told you several times now, it's a waste of time because it's not reasoned logic.

>> i didn't say ketosis will kill everyone. i said it was dangerous in certain circumstances - like to some folks with existing kidney problems. DOH! <<

i detect some backtracking here. ok, if it will make you feel better i will qualify that the atkins diet is only good for people without kidney problems. does that make you feel better? my kidneys are ship shape. how about yours? should we take a poll of the thread and see how many have kidney problems?

>> sugar is not bad. it breaks down into glucose - something your body requires to function at its peak level <<

you don't need to eat sugar to provide glucose for your body, so it's best to eat as little of it as possible.

>> sounds like you are unable to understand moderation is a good thing. <<

hmm, you are lecturing me about the meaning of moderation when you say, "i devour bananas all day long". sounds like banana gluttony to me! perhaps you should fly to afghanistan and join the talibanana fighting monkeys.

>> THE BIBLE SAYS PLANTS AND THE LIKE ARE GOOD FOR FOOD <<

i eat plants. i don't eat meat exclusively.
