I know, which throws cold water on the silly notion that their one fab can potentially supply 50M processors a year.

Poor yields, on the other hand, would suggest that AMD is indeed able to supply as much as the AMDroids fantasize about. All they have to do is fix their yield problems. But then continuing process development means they'll never reach the best yields possible, etc etc.

OK, I'll stop there. Process and manufacturing is not my strongest suit. To me, you pours the sand in one end, and out pops the chips through the other end. ;-)
