"Our good buddy Paul posted this on the Intel thread. It lists Mercury Research as estimating Q4 market share being Intel 80.6 and AMD 18.5. They're probably wrong about market share, but the stock may take a hit tomorrow. Anyone who trades the stock may want to await the opportunity of buying after this report has become widespread."

AMD's been down 10 out of the past 13 sessions...Time for a bit of a rebound???

Dan, Re: It lists Mercury Research as estimating Q4 market share being Intel 80.6 and AMD 18.5. They're probably wrong about market share, but the stock may take a hit tomorrow.

Anyone who trades AMD's stock based on unit market share numbers is a fool IMO. AMD would probably have $100 million less on the bank now if they had held or gained market share while giving their processors virtually away in Q4 (i.e. $60 ASPs). It's in the shareholders best interest for AMD to maximize revenues not to go on a crusade against Intel. The only one benefiting from that one is the customer -- at least until AMD would go bankrupt.

Looks like the selling on the news of the convertible issue has subsided from 15 million plus shares yesterday to below average volune today...Looks like a good time to jump on at $15.95...
