It's pointless Intel having a good compiler if no-one else does, unless they're prepared to give it away with all the bells and whistles. The standard compilers are GCC and MSVC++.

Intel has done nothing to help GCC compile for IA64 well; which is a pretty dumb decision IMO. It just means free software will go with Hammer instead.
