Cary,

My understanding is that billings are shipments that are further qualified by acceptances by the customer of the shipment (after appropriate testing, for example). I believe this is the revenue recognition policy under the new accounting rule. Is this your understanding as well?

It seems to me that if billings must now reflect the "accounting lag" involved in customer acceptance, they would necessarily cause some distortion that might have to result in a preliminary and an adjusted BTB figure.

As far as the reported "industry" BTB number from SEMI is concerned, I only hope this issue can be resolved in a fashion that does result in less reported information, as when SIA stopped reporting BTB.

I appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

Sam
