How does a chip that doesn't exist and has no OS support force Intel to maintain compatibility?
Well it doesn't do anything until it's released to the public. There are some assumptions to my statement, the primary being that the chip works and that it will have speed improvements over the Athelon. If neither of those are true then AMD will be flash memory company in a year or two.
