Accepted and proffered in the same vein. Of course, in 3d most of us do not make a point of pointing out weaknesses, deficits, or shortcomings in the overall tenor of how normal lives are lived within an acceptable social matrix. This however, is a forum specifically defined for either suporting, denigrating, or remaioning neutral on ideas and opinions. There will always be some "slippage" between an opinion of an individual's ideas, and an opinion of the individual themself. This is not unexpected. It is enough that we try to keep it in perspective, and separate the daily trial from the barbeque after. These are only ideas. They do not threaten your own ideas; they do not htreaten your right to your opinion or your mind. Truly, you take it much harder than I do. I am only a lawyer (speaking figuratively), not the client. You, however, are both. You have tied religious arguments into the survival of your "soul" and whatever else. Certainly, I can appreciate this and am always aware of it. You are your ideas; I am not. I am all ideas. I am unhappy to hear your new resolve. You Christians have a habit of disappointing just when we have gotten to stoking the fires for a new celebration. It is hard to lose one who is on a buttered slope of 65 degrees coming down head first. But then, we often get several more tries at you... Seriously though: please defend your ideas, etc., and be angry when you feel you must. I am sure there are severely strained times ahead. But remember; although you are defending an entire world view, detailed and fixed, from my "criticisms", I am not attacking your personal goal of heaven. I hope you get there. I just don't see any merit in most of your biblical ideas. It makes me feel uncomfortable when people such as yourself have packaged eternity into their discussions. I do not like to attack (in effect) your spiritual existence by defending or promoting my own opinions. However, the world is full of viewpoints supportive of and contrary to yours. You do not have to be here. If you HAD to be here, I would probably whisper many ideas in the corner so as not to hurt you or to diminish your hopes. However, you do not need to be here, so I will continue to express my utter disdain for the parts of the bible I consider ugly and inhuman, and my disgust at the manner in which people have and continue to use primitive and self serving writings to further goals of ethnicity, or simply power.
