Good point.

I have stayed out of this debate because most of the strategic issues and views are arguable from either side and I'm not that sophisticated.

There is a simple moral principle here. It is wrong to target innocents in an attempt to defeat your enemy.

It is still happening. I don't believe we would have lost if we fought the good fight against the Japanese agressors. I don't believe we would lose today if we fought the good fight against Middle Eastern Terrorist regimes like Saddam Hussien.
