Tom, It was Soreloserman's acceptance speech and the horrification that occured to my senses that lead me to become more active in the political debate. Unfettered liberalism will KILL this country. However I am troubled by what I consider a softening of the message. Minimum wage is one that strikes near and dear to me. Most Reps sign on, not wanting to face the political backlash when any reputable economist knows that minimum wage laws and the attendant marketplace price responses are far more responsible in reating poverty than alieviating it.

One of my cooks put it best when I told him he was getting a bump in the minimum. He said, "Shit, why do they do that?" Everytime I get an extra .50/ hour more, my bills go up $100 a week! He may not have completely correct in his math but the point was made. They see it, I see it, and the politicos who make it happen continue this practice.

But make no mistake, I am far more inclined to the Republican message than the pinhead method. It's just that I cannot give up my conservative positions lest we be dragged from them and forget what they were.
