I am with Pravin on this. Intel developing their own 86-64 adds instant legitimency to Hammer; and will go a long way to delay acceptance or even kill Merced. Intel has 6-8 months; by then we might see illegit benchmarks, if Hammer sees first silicon soon; to get Merced started. If Hammer has the specs AMD claims, Merced just might be the roadkill Ashok will be talking about next. In the meantime, the simple fact that Intel has an alternative gives credence to Hammer, and will give Msft more incentive for 86-64 software. In addition AMD will be looked upon as the new innovator and Intel the copycat. How the worm has turned
