RESEARCH ALERT-Goldman starts International Rectifier biz.yahoo.com NEW YORK, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs on Tuesday said it started coverage of International Rectifier Corp. (NYSE:IRF) with a ``market outperform'' rating, saying the company is better positioned than other chip makers because of its products. Goldman said International Rectifier's proprietary products yield higher margins and a better business model than is usual with power semiconductors. ``IRF has refocused its business strategy from manufacturing discrete components to providing proprietary power management products. As a result the company has posted superior gross margins relative to the previous cyclical downturn,'' Goldman said.
