not true - in their own currencies, the metals prices are soaring (i.e., in all free-floating developing country currencies - not China's obviously, as the exchange rate is fixed). gold is in a roaring bull market in practically every currency but the dollar...and it has acted quite well in dollar terms as well all things considered.

your earlier remark about O'Neill's Japan visit - you may be on to something, i.e.big brother probably induced them to switch from Euro to dollar buying.
