"This post (I've added the explanation) needs to be sent to ML, CSFB, Pru, etc. semi analyst."

You gotta say the following true statements out loud to fully appreciate their significance...(From a vantage point of only 3 years ago, they weren't on anyone's radar screen...my how things have changed)

Comparing FY01 close to FY98 close (i.e 3 years ago - pre Athy),

1. INTC's revenues have been virtually flat while AMD's have grown over $1 billion.

2. INTC's net income has declined by $4.777 billion while AMD's has climbed by $132 million

Explanation:

The past: INTC and RMBS, AMD and DDR.
The present: INTC and p4, AMD and XP.
The future: INTC and Itanic (and now panic mode Yamhill), AMD and Hammer.

Conclusion: Two companies heading in opposite directions...(INTC's waffling on the ia64 just accentuates the opposing trends)

"You gonna do it or am I."

Be my guest...
I can't believe that these highly paid analysts haven't twigged to the leadership transition that the microprocessor marketplace is currently undergoing...unless, of course, well, you know...
