Greg & Mr. Cow, thanks for the notes. McAfee seems to be working OK for me but it's a PITA sometimes. I installed AVG for someone else and liked how straight forward and easy to configure it was. It's tempting. Now if I can just get rid of the rattle in my box (Dell PIII 600) I'll be happy. I used to think it was the hard drive but because of the discussion here I took off the side panel and put my ear up against the power supply (didn't get fried) and now suspect it's the power supply fan.
