I agree that AMAT is the 800 pound gorilla. That's why I own the stock. I expect the stock will double from this level to the top of the next cycle. I'm expecting Cymer to be 3 to 5 times it's current level and I'm willing to accept the added risk of a one-product company.

I would not expect either AMAT or CYMI (or any other current CMOS equipment supplier) to succeed in the post-silicon era. Nor would I expect current silicon CMOS manufacturers to be terribly successful in that era. Proposed post-silicon technologies are based on radically different physics and different manufacturing methods. Little or none of AMAT's or Intel's current expertise is applicable to, say, manipulation of individual organic molecules.

At the same time, the post-silicon era is probably 15-20 years away. At least.
