Everyone,

Can we move away from the debating whether or not "Uncle Tom" is a racist term?

Clearly people in a group (no matter how arbitrary) can call other members rather hurtful words, that is unacceptable for anyone else to use.

Race is really more of a social and political way of defining and dividing people anyway - and not scientific.

"Uncle Tom",
I don't hear that phrase much around these parts, except in the specific instance of "Uncle Clarence Thomas". The equivalent phrase I have heard denotes a cookie, which is black on the outside and white on the inside and goes well with milk. The actual cookie is not named so much anymore, instead a black person is mentioned with the question "Got Milk?".
