Quality (lack of), reliability (lack of), temperature margin (lack of), amateurish cooling, lack of burnup protection: all AMD trademarks. Why does Compaq continue to throw AMD out WRT servers?

AMD's CPG technical marketing division announced this errata on September 21, 2000 in a technical note and created a simple patch for Windows 2000

Dan, in both cases it was an O/S bug; both Linux and Windows were assuming cache coherency for something that wasn't coherent. AMD pushed the hardware optimizations harder than Intel, and tripped this bug in both O/Ses. It's not a CPU bug.
