obviously you old men are going deaf or you don't take your music as seriously as i thought. there is no way a 128kbps mp3 which is only 1/11th the original size of the cd track is excellent quality. 128 mp3's are about the same quality as cassette tapes. i will accept that mp3's twice the size at 256kbps are excellent quality but even they are not up to cd quality (it varies with different music. some is indistinguishable). and that is only with the best encoders. most people don't use the right encoders for their mp3s and there is quite a bit of difference between the encoders out there.
